Our collaboration with PortGroup Graphic Design continues on, building out a new and bespoke website for The Neil Group, a property development company based in NZ for over the past 70 years. Since we previously built the landing page for Anehana Heights, a plot of land sections for sale and development in Whangaparaoa that was owned by The Neil Group, it was much easier for us to work within the brand guidelines.
Visit WebsiteWhen PortGroup approached us about the project they provided the initial design files their graphic designers had created, which we refined with minor adjustments to enhance the website UI/UX. The Neil Group wanted to modernise their website design, using it as a catalog of all their existing and previous property development projects across New Zealand.
The new website design focused on large visual elements by introducing video header sections and high quality imagery, all mixed in with their branding colours. The original site was shorter in comparison, whereas this new website design lengthened the pages to add in much more content than before.
PortGroup wanted to bring the design to life, making it more reactive as the user scrolls. Because the design was finalised, we opted for scrollytelling reactivity within the images and content. Elements would move and fade into view and main header images would hold their positions as the user scrolled. Each current development needed its own landing page so we decided to develop a template per the design, making it easier and more efficient to add future developments.
One of the key site development components was the interactive map located on each of the property development pages. This interactive website element showed the separate land sections for sale and their respective information such as pricing and land plot size. It also included a ‘Site Plan & Pricing Package’ available to users to download for free.
Since each project featured an interactive map showcasing the available sections for that specific development site we decided to build this using WordPress Advanced Custom Fields. We utilised SVG files to define individual sections without the need for complex manual coding. Every section is fully editable in the backend CMS, allowing the team at The Neil Group to manage pricing, sold status, and other key details effortlessly.
Before wrapping up this project, the Neil Group team requested a few additional features such as adding in carpark instructions for their visiting clients, creating a specific form for working with them, and a logo slider showing the initiatives they support to name a few! We were super pleased with how the development turned out on our end and were glad to hear the amazing positive feedback we received from The Neil Group and PortGroup.
