Kelly’s Garden combined both e-commerce and land-scaping as a service in one business. Based in New Zealand, they helped a range of clients from other landscapers to home gardeners and everything in between. After 5 years of their current website and supplying garden products and services, knowledge, and pre-packed solutions - It was time for an upgrade. The team approached Builtflat to find out how we could help.
The team wanted to bring more upmarket elegance and softness to the website design as the existing site used sharp edges with contrasting colours and failed to make the products the main focus point. In our initial mock-up we bulked out the Home page to incorporate easier product selection for quick conversions, more navigation pathways to important pages, and highlighted cool features such as the plant identifier gallery.
We also wanted to make the website more engaging and come to life with reactive elements. Simply image carousels wouldn’t cut it here. So we conceptualised a more responsive approach with elements and images moving as the user scrolled or hovered with their cursors.
The current store set up was very overwhelming and clunky. We wanted to bring light to the vast range that Kelly’s Garden supplied but refine the store’s categorising and searchability to enhance the UI/UX. We optimised the filtering options and layout of categories, making them much easier for the user to find their desired product.
The team was very proud with the finalised design which we presented to Kelly’s Garden with great feedback. Our design modernised the UI and UX to create a more cohesive experience for all users, as well as upgrading the brand feel to something more luxurious and inviting.
