CHASNZ - Construction Health & Safety New Zealand Newsroom & Events Addition

To further enhance Construction Health & Safety New Zealand’s (CHASNZ) online presence, we collaborated with PortGroup to develop a dedicated Newsroom and Events section for their website. Utilising a combination of Next.js, WordPress, and HubSpot to deliver two new web pages tracking user metrics for hosting and booking events, and sharing company news.

CHASNZ - Construction Health & Safety New Zealand Newsroom & Events Addition Introduction

What We Discovered

CHASNZ regularly organises workshops and events across multiple locations while keeping their audience informed with industry news and updates. However, their website didn’t have a structured space currently to effectively showcase this new idea of listing events or deliver updates in a timely and organised manner.

Our goal was to build an intuitive system that dynamically displayed events based on their location and streamlined the registration process, all while maintaining the look and feel with the rest of the site.

A web page to host all events

The Events page was designed to dynamically display workshops and events, categorised by their locations. This functionality allows users to easily find events relevant to them, whether they are in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or elsewhere in New Zealand. Key features of the Events page include:

  • Dynamic Content Display: Leveraging WordPress as the backend, we created custom post types for events, enabling the CHASNZ team to add new events effortlessly. These posts are dynamically fetched and displayed on the front-end using Next.js, ensuring fast load times and an interactive user experience.
  • Custom Registration Forms: Each event includes a custom registration form built with HubSpot, enabling attendees to sign up with ease. The form automatically captures user details, ensuring that CHASNZ receives all necessary information while providing a smooth registration process for users.
  • Location-Specific Filtering: A filtering feature allows users to sort events by location, helping them quickly find workshops near them without having to scroll through irrelevant events.
  • Integration with HubSpot: By integrating HubSpot, we ensured that user data from registrations is directly synced with CHASNZ’s Client Relationship Management software (CRM). This helps streamline event management, enabling follow-ups, automated confirmations, and improved data analytics.

    A newsroom experience

The Newsroom serves as a centralised hub for CHASNZ’s industry updates, announcements, and insights. To ensure ease of use and visual appeal, we designed the Newsroom with:

  • Customisable Content Blocks: The CHASNZ team can quickly post articles, announcements, and press releases via WordPress. These posts are displayed in an organised, grid-style layout, making it easy for visitors to browse through the latest updates.
  • Tagging and Categorisation: News articles are categorised and tagged for better discoverability, allowing users to filter content by topic or date.
  • Dynamic Loading: Built using Next.js, the Newsroom benefits from server-side rendering and dynamic loading, ensuring articles are delivered quickly and efficiently to users.

    Wrapping it up:

The feedback from CHASNZ’s project managers and board members has been overwhelmingly positive, with the team expressing how these new features have elevated their ability to connect with their community. As CHASNZ continues to grow, we’re proud to support their mission by providing ongoing updates, maintenance, and development to keep their platform running at its best.
