Beautiful interior design for your home.

Designing interiors to turn your house into a stunning home. Incorporating layout, furniture, lighting, colours, patterns and more, Interior’s team crafts well thought-out and beautiful interiors for homes all around Montréal, Canada.

How we started the project

This project started for Builtflat when we were reached out to by Carolie, the marketing manager of Interior through a mutual acquaintance. The team at Interior had been in the interior design industry for over 5 years, sourcing a majority of their work through social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Having designed many interiors for family homes all over Montréal and doing a good job of it, Interior were looking to expand and further digitalise their business.

The main function of the website would be to showcase their interior design capabilities to those they weren’t reaching through social media and convert that new audience into profitable leads. The website they requested would incorporate their branding, colour scheme, and imagery, drawing the viewer's attention to their work displayed throughout the website. It also had to be connected to their social media profiles. We knew we could definitely help them with this, so after a few discussions we took on the project and began building.

Our approach to the research & design

Our research began by looking at a range of different interior designers around the world and picking out qualities we saw were performing well. These would be coupled into the design of the website, keeping inline with conventions used in the interior design industry. We then looked at the imagery Interior had provided us that they found best communicated the quality of their interior design work.

We wanted the overall design of the website to work with and boost the attractiveness of the design imagery they had provided, creating a unique relationship between the website and interior design images. The website would tell multiple stories for each service they offered that their audience could follow as they scrolled through, drawing them into the beautiful photos which were complemented by text and call to actions prompting them to convert into leads.

The colour scheme was used throughout in a way that would illustrate the excellent interior design work Interior provided while keeping the brand at the forefront of the audience's mind. The overall flow of the website was designed to direct website users downwards, continuously wanting more till they would reach either of the two end points, moving on to their social media platforms or converting into a lead.

Wrapping the project all together

Once we had the roadmap all designed and laid out, we went back to Interior with our proposal. They were very happy with the initial design and only requested a couple minor changes. We quickly made the edits as requested and after a couple days of going back and forth, Interior gave us the greenlight to go ahead and start developing.

The website used Webflow, which would give Interior the capability to make edits to the website when needed and worked in sync with the website design. The project took us just over two weeks to build and complete before we handed the ‘keys’ over to the Interior team so they could progress on their digital journey.

The team at Builtflat really enjoyed working on this interior design website project, and just as Interior was, we too are happy at how this build turned out. Not only did the finish product fit the brief and communicate their team's value and quality, it served as a lead generating website to help grow their business.
